Sony became aware that the ornament plate on some units of the E-mount FE 35mm F1.4 GM (SEL35F14GM) may come off. Sony states that this does not affect the optical performance of the lens.
Free inspection and free-of-charge repair were offered for affected lenses, identified by serial number on the model plate at the base of the lens, until 31 March 2024.
This is included in the archive precisely because it is minor: a complete record has to distinguish cosmetic advisories from ones that stop equipment working, and severity is recorded on every entry so that distinction survives aggregation.
